The Electronic Physician Record® (EPR®) Quality & Performance Improvement System is much more than simply a place to keep quality & performance improvement information. The Electronic Physician Record® (EPR®) Physician Peer Review System fosters consistency and thoroughness, prevents cases from falling through the cracks, and helps to complete the review process in a timely manner. At each level of the review process, the system:- outlines preliminary tasks to be done before any disposition is made
- displays additional tasks based on the disposition selected; and
- provides all the documentation necessary to complete those tasks
Implementation of the EPR® Physician Peer Review System will help demonstrate full compliance with two of the new concepts introduced in the 2007 Joint Commission Medical Staff Standards - ongoing professional practice evaluation and focused professional practice evaluation (OPPE/FPPE).

Allows you to view a report showing all physician peer review activity for a particular practitioner, all reviews for a specific quality indicator (for example, surgical infections) or all reviews in a particular department.
ADDITIONALLY...
The reports can easily be assembled for the MEC and Board to show the timeliness and effectiveness of the physician peer review process, including how many cases were identified for review in each department, the disposition of those cases, what cases are still pending and any active performance improvement plans.
